Upon graduating from the California Polytechnic State University of San Luis Obispo in Spring of 2005 with a degree in Graphic Communication, John began working by illustrating eco-adaptive infrastructure development techniques for civil engineers, community planners, and landscape architects. His interest in expanding his illustrative style led him to take classes in architectural rendering and life drawing. It was in the pursuit of understanding the human form that he developed a passion for design. He worked as an illustrator for various architecture firms in Los Angeles while attending Art Center College of Design, in Pasadena, where he studied Entertainment Design. He has a wide variety of design interests ranging from characters and creatures to props, vehicles, and environments. He takes inspiration from the sculptured style of Leyendecker and the charming characters developed by Norman Rockwell. He is currently living and working as a concept artist in Los Angeles, California.
